WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT THE CHALLENGER?

The Challenger is made in the USA. It is available in two motor sizes:
the standard 1/2 h.p. motor; and the 3/4 h.p. upgrade.

The speed of the individual orbits is 1725 RPM. The freewheeling feature
which produces RANDOM orbital movement adds a rotary motion of approximately
90 RPM.

The Challenger is powered by a super-reliable, thermal protected Baldor
motor with a capacitor start. It cleans a 15" path. With an optional
pad driver (inquire) a 17" path can be achieved. The Challenger 1/2 h.p.
version weighs 66 lbs. With the 3/4 h.p. motor, 6 lbs. are added.

The Challenger has a lifting handle near the top of the motor for easier
handling. There is a kill switch to prevent accidental start-ups.

The Challenger's low profile allows good access under furniture. The
heavy-duty vinyl bumper prevents physical contact between the outer edge
of the pad driver and walls, baseboards, furniture, etc. Five-inch
non-marring wheels provide easy mobility, include being able to travel
up and down stairs.

                                          5" wheels

A bolted assembly assures quiet operation. Vibrations from the orbital
movement of the motor and pad driver are not transferred to the handle
grips, as if often the case with less well-designed orbital machines. Among
those who have used several orbital pad machines, the Challenger stands
out with the reputation of being the easiest to handle and the smoothest to
operate.

The exterior has a high-gloss automotive finish. The shaft is chromed.
All Challengers are pre-tested prior to shipping. The Challenger comes out
of the shipping carton ready to use: no assembly is required.

It is shipped with twenty terrycloth pads and three gliders. A glider
takes some of the motor's weight off the carpet, making the Challenger
very easy to handle and maneuver.
