House cleaners/maid service operators
If this is your line of work, you're already in customers' homes. A survey conducted recently found that fewer than 5% of house cleaners and maid services offered carpet cleaning services to their customers. Asked why most didn't, responses varied but generally fell into the following categories: "The work would be too difficult for our people". "We don't own, or want to own, a truck-mounted carpet cleaning unit. They cost tens of thousands of dollars". "A bulky portable carpet extractor wouldn't fit in our vehicle, and would be too heavy and cumbersome to carry in and out of customers' homes". "Traditional carpet cleaning equipment is too complex, and is subject to frequent breakdowns or need for fine-tuning".
